I meant to post this on April 1st, but I’ve been dealing with some mental and physical stress that has made it difficult for me to do a lot of things. So I’ve fallen behind on blog posts (again), but am hoping to get caught up over this weekend despite having a birthday dinner to attend tomorrow and overtime at work on Saturday evening. So please be patient with me as I try to get this blog back on my priority list!
Though April wasn’t the best month for me, I did really well with my reading goals! So here’s the breakdown of all the pages in my reading journal and what I filled in for each.
Out of my 26 books to read this year, I have still only read 7 of them. Technically one ended up being a DNF, but I am still checking it off as I did read about half of it before deciding it wasn’t for me.
For my daily reading challenge, I read 29 out of 30 days… with the day I missed April 1st a.k.a. April Fools Day (and I swear this isn’t a belated prank/joke)!
For read around the alphabet, I have filled in the following letters so far: A, B, D, E, G, H, I, L, M, O, P, S, T, V and W. So we’re a little over halfway during out first trip around the alphabet!
For book BINGO, I wasn’t able to fill in any spaces.
So far I’ve read 28 books in 2023. I didn’t count the DNF book because well, I didn’t finish it!
My book of the month was Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo. I gave it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating
I didn’t have this as a category in my reading journal, but my least favorite books were Elektra by Jennifer Saint and The Hormone Diet by Natasha Turner. Both received a ⭐️⭐️⭐️rating from me.
So there you have it- my April Reading Update! How well did you do with your reading goals in April? Was your favorite and least favorite book you rad in April? Let me know! I hope everyone has a great end to their week and an awesome weekend!
I’ve been beta reading a novel, which is fun.

I’ve done that a few times! It’s always interesting to see how a work starts out versus where it ends up 🙂
