February & March 2023 Reading Updates

This update is long overdue for both months! 2023 has been a really bumpy year for me in terms of work, mental health, and my personal life. But somehow through all of it, I have managed to find time to read and work toward my reading goals!

Out of my 26 books to read this year, I read 10 of them! Technically one ended up being a DNF, but I am still checking it off as I did read about half of it before deciding it wasn’t for me.

For my daily reading challenge, I read all 28 days of February and all 31 days of March.

For read around the alphabet, I have the following letters marked off: B, D, E, G, H, I, M, P, S, T V and, W.

For book BINGO, I was able to fill in four spaces-
Social Media Made Me Read It (Sign Here)
Genre I Never/Rarely Read (A Botanist’s Guide to Parties and Poisons). The genre was Mystery
Book with 500+ Pages (The Book Charmer)
Wish I Had Read Sooner (The Lost Apothecary)
Memoir (What My Bones Know)
Book that Has an Orange Cover- (Elektra)

So far I’ve read 22 books in 2023. I didn’t count the DNF book because well, I didn’t finish it!

My book of the month for February was The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner. I gave it a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating and fully intend on adding it to my book collection!
My books of the month for March (I legitimately could not choose between the two) are What My Bones Know by Stephanie Foo and Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. Both books received a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating from me and I will eventually be adding The Shadow and Bone series to my book collection!

I didn’t have this as a category in my reading journal, but my least favorite book for February was Sign Here by Claudia Lux (review for this is coming). I gave it a ⭐️ rating.
My least favorite book of March was A Show Addict’s Christmas by Beth Harrison. I gave it a ⭐️ rating, which really surprised me because I remember loving her novel Shoe Addicts Anonymous. Maybe I’m past the chic lit phase of my life? I honestly don’t know!

So there you have it- my February and March Reading Updates! How well did you do with your reading goals in February and March? I feel like I’m making good progress with mine! Have a great week everyone!
