In June of 2021, I posted my update list for the 13 books I wanted to read that year. My intention was to do the same this year… and then June rolled around, and I realized I hadn’t made much progress on this list! Truth be told, I’ve been slacking with this list. I’ve been reading other books that aren’t on this list, I’ve been focusing on my freelance writing, and there are many other reasons (or excuses depending on your perspective) as to why I haven’t made much progress on this list.

However over the last 2-3 weeks, I’ve made a conscious effort to spend more time reading the books on my list. I have made decent progress with this list, but I’m still not fully where I wanted to be at this point in the year.

Out of the 13 books on my 2022 list, I have completely read 7 of them, am in the process of reading 3 of them, and haven’t started the other 3. So as of this post, I’m a little over halfway done with my 2022 list! And being halfway has led me to already start thinking about my 2023 list… but that is a post for way in the future!

So here is my 13 books I want to read in 2022 progress update!

Completed Books

Haven’t Started Yet

1. The Name of the Wind
2. In the Shadow of Dracula
3. Wonderbook

Looking over this list, I’m a bit frustrated with myself for not starting some of the longer books sooner. The Name of the Wind is 722 pages. Dracul is almost 500 pages. Jane Eyre is 414 pages, which isn’t that long, but I’m already struggling with it because I don’t like the writing. But I’m hoping that by setting aside 30 mins to an hour each day for reading, I will be able to finish these books before the year is over.
