Back in January, I shared my list of the 13 books I want to read in 2021. Halfway through the year I shared my progress on this list. Now 2021 is near its end, so it’s time to share my final update on how many of the 13 books I’ve read. And yes, I have a list of 13 books to read for 2022, but that will be shared in a separate post!
Books I’ve Finished Reading
- Good Omens
- Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Review can be found here).
- The Alchemyst
- The Happiness Project
- Zen in the Art of Writing (Review can be found here).
- Baptism of Fire
- The Complete Handbook of Novel Writing (Review can be found here).
- The Tower of Swallows
- It Starts with the Egg (Review can be found here).
Out of the nine books that I read Miss Peregrine’s was still the biggest flop for me. If I had to choose the ones I liked the most it, it’s still a tie between Good Omens and Zen in the Art of Writing. However, It Starts with the Egg and The Complete Handbook of Novel Writing were very educational, so they are the runner ups!
Books I’m in the Process of Reading
- The Lady of the Lake
- The Path of Druidry
I admitted in the middle of the year update that I’ve been struggling with The Witcher series and that’s still true. I watched Season 2 of the show in one day (and it was worth every second that I did), but the books haven’t captured my attention the same way. And The Path of Druidry book just got lost in the mix of everything I was reading (or admittedly re-reading).
Books I Didn’t Get to Read
- Paganism
- Mastery
These two books got lost in the mix of everything I was reading and re-reading. These books won’t be carried over onto my 2022 to read list, but I will get around to reading them… eventually. Honestly, there are so many other books I’m a bit more excited to read (or re-read) that it’s going to be awhile before I get to these two!
So that’s the final update on the 13 books I wanted to read in 2021! This isn’t an accurate representation of all the books I read this year, but I would say for choosing 13 specific books to read, I did fairly well getting through them!
How many books did you read this year? Can you believe 2021 is almost over? The last 2-3 months have gone by super fast for me and I’m so ready for 2022 to begin! I hope everyone has a great week and happy reading!
Too many books, too little time! ARGGHHH!!

You’re welcome, Michelle. I make lists, too. They’re my saving grace. 🙂
