On January 1st, I posted my 2020 goals. Now today, October 1st I am posting my goals update for the month of September. Back in August I had hoped that September would be the month I turned everything around and got my writing and myself on track. Instead, my mental and physical health both went on a downward trajectory. Now I’m awaiting test results and hoping they come back with the least scary answer possible. I’ve also taken another month off school because I’m not in the right head or body space for it. With October, I’m setting my expectations as low as possible with my only goal being to get my health in a better place. But with that aside, here is my goals update for the month of September!
1. Write 500 words a day: For the month of September, I decided to stick with the schedule method I made back in August. Even though I put it in a place where it is highly visible and looked at it often, I didn’t follow it. I thought would be helpful to me to schedule what I write on certain days, but turns out that isn’t for me. I can’t schedule my writing that rigorously. So for the rest of the year I am resuming my 500 words a day.
2. Learn or try something new every month: The awesome little day trip I took with my fiancée and his brother can be found here!
3. One post a week: Thanks to all my planning and having blog posts prepared for the next few months, I was able to meet this goal with no issues!
4. Finally finish a draft of a novel: Eventually there will be progress on this one… just not for September.
So September really knocked me on my butt and as I said, I’m keeping my expectations for October low. I haven’t been feeling like myself and all I can do is hope that doesn’t bleed through into my writing too much.
How was your September? I hope it went better than mine! I hope everyone has a great week and a great start to their month!
