2020 Goals Update: July

On January 1st, I posted my 2020 goals. Now today, August 1st I am posting my goals update for the month of July.

1. Write 500 words a day: This goal has been getting away from me again. Though I was able to write 7,785 words in July, which I think has been my highest word count in months, I’ve begun to feel the imbalance of my life and I can see where it’s hitting me the hardest. So for the month of August, I’m throwing out my daily word count to try something new (which will be my new thing I try in August) to see if that serves me better during the rough time I’m having.

2. Learn or try something new every month: I baked something for the first time in my life! And boy was that an experiencing!

3. One post a week: Thanks to all my planning and having blog posts prepared for the next few months, I was able to meet this goal with no issues! I was also able to post additional blog posts! Thank goodness for planning and organizing!

4. Finally finish a draft of a novel: I was able to get more of my novel typed up, but not written. Hopefully with the new plan I’ve set for myself in August, I will be able to get the novel back on track!

July was rough on me for several reasons, so I’m really hoping to bounce back in August. After all, it is my birth month (my birthday is the 3rd of August for anyone who didn’t know) and this is when the sign of Leo is at its strongest! So hopefully I can use some of my astrological traits to my advantage and have a strong month!

How was your July? Was it good, bad, or somewhere in between? Try anything new? I would love to know! Thank you to everyone who reads my posts, comments on them, or shares them. Your support means the world to me and it feels good to know that my writing is touching people. The biggest thing I learned in July is that my biggest goal as a writer is to simply touch people’s lives with my words and make them feel something. Whether those emotions are positive or negative is entirely up to you! But more about this topic later! I hope everyone enjoys the first weekend and week of August!
