What I’m Currently Reading

Confession time- I’m not someone who can read one book at a time. I have to have several books going at one time. I don’t know why I’m this way, all I know is I’ve been this way for as long as I can remember. I can read a book in one sitting… while all my other in progress books stare at me from my desk, waiting to be finished.

So with all that being said, I thought it might be fun to share all the books I’m currently reading!

Organized for Success by Stephanie Winston

I am always looking for new ways to be organized and feel productive because organization and productivity are key to being successful. So when I saw this book at a thrift store (or it might have been a library sale, can’t remember which), I knew I had to grab it. I haven’t gotten very far in the book yet, but so far I’m finding it helpful. I’m really excited to read chapter 4 which is about The Art of the Calendar/Planner. As I’ve shown in a previous blog post, this year I decided to utilize my planner more for my writing and it has made a huge difference for me! So I’m interested how Top Executives and CEOs organize their planners and calendars and what tips I could possibly utilize in my own planner.

The Time of Contempt (The Witcher Book #2) by Andrzej Sapkowski

I started reading this series after watching the television show. I absolutely loved the television show and thought it was awesome. I started reading the first book and admittedly, I struggled with it a bit. Where the show felt exciting and fast paced, the book dragged on a bit for me. It took em longer to finish it than I expected and I recently started the second book in the series. I’m 34 pages in and so far it’s not holding my interest. I feel like so far it has just been a recap of the first book, which I already read! So I’m hoping it picks up as the book goes along.

The Unofficial Harry Potter Character Compendium

I bought this book the day it came out because I was super excited for it. I’ve restrained myself from plowing through it, which is easy to do because of the book set up. My favorite thing about this book is that it covers EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER in the series! Even if they were mentioned briefly in one sentence, they are in the book. I appreciate that because so many smaller characters are overlooked, even in character compendiums. It is going to look excellent on my Harry Potter bookshelves among all my other Harry Potter books.

The Modern Wiccan’s Guide to Living by Cerridwen Greenleaf

I love reading books about Wicca. I have read several books on the subject, own several books on the subject, and am continuously finding new books to read on Wicca. What initially attracted me to this book was the cover. The moon phase design and the blue color is beautiful and calming, so I just had to know what was inside the book! So far I am really loving this book. Some of the things in the book, like The Spice Rack of Life page, has information that anyone can use, even if they aren’t Wiccan. This page talks about how different spices can help with different ailments, such as colds, toothaches, and overall dietary help. And I think the photos and illustrations in it are very nice. I do love Wiccan books that have interesting illustrations or beautiful photos because I feel it enhances the book and makes the experience more sensory.

So those are the books I’m currently reading! What books are you currently reading? I would love to know! Have a great day everyone!

  1. Wonderful post, Michelle! Did you know that one of the greatest novelists, Virginia Woolf, also preferred reading several books at once? No doubt, reading books of various genres simultaneously, as you do, is a helpful strategy to avoid getting bored (especially if one of them is particularly long). I usually combine fiction with poetry and essays, getting the best of all three worlds. 😉
