Madam Malkin’s Shop Tour

So in these shop tours we’ve covered where you can purchase your wand and your schoolbooks. But you might be asking- Where can I purchase my Hogwarts robes? Well this shop tour answers that question because today we will be touring Madam Malkins!

If you’ve read the books, you know Madam Malkins is one of the shops where young witches and wizards can purchase their school robes. And that is exactly what you can do a this Madam Malkins as well! But it’s not just robes you can purchase here, but other accessories as well and even some home decor!

Upon entering Madam Malkins you are met with a lot of open space for walking around and trying on robes. There are racks full of robes in all sizes and each Hogwarts house so the whole family can rep their Hogwarts house! And if they want to go overboard with showing off their Hogwarts house pride, they can also buy house ties, scarves, socks, headbands, and jewelry. And for anyone who needs a house bag, you have a choice of a bag or a mini backpack!

One of the best parts about Madam Malkins is the way it’s decorated. In the middle of store we see some costumes from the movies. The only two that I’ve seen for purchase are Snape’s outfit and Hermione’s Yule Ball dress, which I would buy if it wasn’t pink (I don’t look good in pink). And if you look up front behind the registers, you see a display of Weasley sweaters! So if you’ve ever wanted a Weasley sweater, here’s the place to get one! We also see the jumper Neville wore during the Battle of Hogwarts, which is really cool! If I didn’t live in Florida, I would have bought a Weasley sweater by now, but I’m still adjusting to the endless Summer (with like a few “cold” days thrown in there) and have yet to build up the cold intolerance that Floridians seem to have!

One of my favorite parts of the shop is the display cases where the jewelry is kept. The tops are designed to look very classy, giving the shop a vintage feel, which I really like. In the display cases they have so much jewelry! My favorite pieces are (obviously) The Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw and Hermione’s Time-Turner necklace, but the selection they have is amazing! They have house bracelets that were designed for the Lumos Foundation and are really nice. They have the jewelry Hermione wore to the Yule Ball, so if you ever want to cosplay as Hermione at the Yule Ball, this shop has you covered! If you’re look to start or expand your Harry Potter jewelry collection, this is the shop to go to!

They also have a small section of home decor, which is mainly blankets and pillows. It’s not the biggest selection and it’s getting easier to find Harry Potter home decor in retail stores, but I still think what they have is super cute and I’m seriously considering buying the Ravenclaw pillow for my desk chair!

So there you have it, the Madam Malkins shop tour! If you were to enter Madam Malkins, what item would you consider purchasing? Let me know! Have a magical week everyone!

      • I had to do a quick Google search because I wasn’t too familiar with when they were built. So Hogsmeade was built first and it opened in 2010. In 2014, they opened Diagon Alley.

So in terms of being new, they are new-ish. So I do think they are made to look old because the shops in the films all had an older look to them. So for the sake of a true immersive experience into the Wizarding World, details are super important!

Seeing your interest in them, I will definitely make sure to take more photos of the buildings and devote a separate post just talking about the Wizarding World in general. Thank you for your question! I hope I did a good job of answering it!
