I know I haven’t updated this blog in months and there are no good reasons, excuses, whatever you want to call them for it (although when your site doesn’t want to publish anything that’s not really something you can help)! So here’s a brief glimpse into my life as of late-
I’m not in college right now due to financial problems and though I’m working my butt off to get it all resolved, it’s not going as planned. I have to do it all on my own, I can’t ask anyone for help, and the college I attend doesn’t seem to understand that this is ALL ON ME…. So I’m unsure if or when I’ll be able to go back to school, which is really disheartening because I am so close to my degree and I miss going to classes. I really, really miss it, and not knowing if I can go back kind of makes everything else feel more difficult to me. So if anyone knows of any really good scholarship websites or any free writing contests that pay, etc, it would really help me solve this problem!
Along the lines of that problem, I am now working two jobs, which exhaust me and also going along with me trying to get things resolved…. but life gets in the way and it always seem like there is something! But overall I do have to say I really like both my jobs, so it’s not like I’m working my butt off and hating life, which helps.
But the best part of this is- I’VE MADE PROGRESS WITH MY NOVEL! I’ve written over 5,000 words this month which is the most I’ve written in months. I set up a schedule for myself (which I will post in a future blog) to help me get on track with writing. Some days I miss my goal completely, some days I get down a few words, other days I blow by my goal! Right now I’m just trying to figure out what the best word count is for me, so next months schedule will look different than this months.
So to answer the question of where have I been, the answer is simple- I’ve been lost for awhile, dealing with a lot of uncertainties and trying to get my life and my writing on track. I’ve been so caught up in fixing things that I didn’t realize I lost myself along the way, but slowly I’m getting back to myself and (hopefully) this blog. I have a lot of future blog posts in mind as well as some new things I want to try out that will hopefully help me out in every aspect of my life.
So please stay tuned for what’s next! And thank you to anyone who still out there supporting me even though I haven’t updated this blog in months!

Don’t give up! “Doing College” alone really is still possible, just not always possible fast. It took me 30 years and three colleges to complete my degree, but I paid for it all myself. And as an FYI, many universities will cut employees a deal on tuition…. see if you can’t find a job on campus, keep working fulltime and go to school part time….sometimes one class per semester was all I could manage…The advantage? I actually had time to really devote my attention to each class and graduated cum laude. At 52. I know you can do it. I know you can. Cuz I did.

Yay, writing stick to it-ness! Sometimes life’s balance creates two polar opposites but when viewed, they’re opportunities. I know this feels like a tug of war but hang in there. You win!

Yeah some days are better than others, but I’m slowly getting the hang of it! Thanks for telling me I win though because somedays it feels more like I’m losing!

always does feel like the ups aren’t in sight and the downs are forever. slow pace is good, then you can monitor your terrain and not fall, I’ve done that too; both metaphorically and physically!
