Something I Made Today

MyDivergentFactionCharmBracelet

So besides writing another of my passions is making jewelry. I make a lot of beaded jewelry (mainly for my friend Kellie who seems to always want something new), but I also make other types of jewelry and am working on bettering my jewelry making skills by reading jewelry making books and watching/reading jewelry making tutorials!

Today I was FINALLY able to make a piece of jewelry I’ve been wanting to make for awhile now- a charm bracelet inspired by the book/movie series Divergent. The bracelet has five charms, one for each faction. I know the picture is a little blurry is certain areas, so I will quickly explain the charms. The tree represents the Amity faction because their faction symbol is a tree. Abnegation is the faction that is outdoors and farms and they represent kindness. The flames represent the Dauntless faction because their faction symbol is flames. Dauntless is the faction that protects the city and they represent bravery. The scales represent the Candor faction because their faction symbol is scales. Candor is the justice faction and they represent honesty. The eye represents the Erudite faction because their faction symbol is an eye. Erudite is the faction that values knowledge above all and they intelligence. And finally the hand represents the Abnegation faction because their faction symbol are hands (but sadly I couldn’t find a charm of two hands holding each other). Abnegation is the faction that helps others and they represent selflessness.

I’m really happy with how it turned out and I can’t wait to wear it! I will definitely be wearing it when I see Allegiant on March 18th, which I am super excited for! I just wanted to share this with you all because I am really proud of it, so I hope all of you like it!
